One of the reasons I started this blog was to have a place to write things down and be able to search later. Hence the tag, “If I write it down, I might not forget”. Often times it’s the small one-liners that need to be remembered. Example:

To create a new NSView in Interface Builder, you drag the “custom view” into the instances section of your .nib. By default, the custom view is set to NSView.

That note isn’t worthy of a full post, but it’s something I might forget. The plan is to have a category called “commentary”. For now, these posts will appear as regular posts with very little content. At some point I’ll tweak wordpress to present these posts a little more concisely similar to how daringfireball.net now displays the linked list inline with the rest of the content.

I hope to be pretty liberal with the commentary. My brain is a least recently used cache, if I stop doing something it’ll quickly get bumped out for something new. By the time I realize it’s something I wanted to remember, it’s too late.
